The Review Process

To gather this information, I selected the five best selling jump starters on Amazon that all had a customer review rating of 4 stars or above.. I researched the manufacturers product specs, documented the amp rating, compared other features, read all of the reviews on multiple shopping sites, and studied test results available in videos and product reports.

I then ran a number of calculations regarding purchase price per amp and re-ranked these jump starters by those that offered the most power for the lowest price.

Conclusion

Surprisingly, the current bestseller on Amazon, the Clore JNC300XL , has over 600 consumer reviews, has the highest customer rating, but it is NOT the lowest cost per amp.

It also does not have an air compressor for spare tire inflation, reverse polarity alarm or flashlight.  Considering that there is significant price differences, are people buying just based on the outstanding number of reviews or are they really doing their homework?

If you want the the most power at the lowest cost per amp, I think you should consider the Stanley J5C09 500-Amp Jump Starter with Built-In Air Compressor.
